To quote Roman Pankiewicz from his book Seven Splendids, "Wielki Szlem passed on his correctness even when mated to rather inferior mares, adding also his refinement. His merits for Polish breeding are immeasurable, since after WWII, only some mares survived. They were of different quality and among them were also weaker ones such as the daughters of Kaszmir from Pelkinie. Only thanks to Wielki Szlem this valuable breeding material was preserved. Even mated to poorer representatives of good damlines, he produced daughters, who established their own families. Let us be grateful to him for this." The Wielki Szlem sire line remains one of the greats of Polish breeding, to which Pejczyk is an admirable representative.
