Elza was foaled during WWII in 1942 in what can only be assumed extremely difficult circumstances. Her breeder is Franciska Pragłowska of Ujazd stud. After the war she made her way to Albigowa till her death in 1951. She produced 5 foals, three of which were very good racers. Her biggest contribution to the breed is her daughter Ellora, the dam of US National Champion El Paso, his Derby winning full brother Elfur, the notable sire El Azrak and great race mare Elizaa.
