Bajdara

Bajdara was bred by Nowy Dwor Stud and foaled in 1951.  A beautiful bay Kuhailan mare whose dam line was imported to Poland from Babolna, Hungry.  While she had a rather undistinguished and brief racing career, she started twice and did not place, her offspring were very much noted for their racing prowess.  She had 8 foals that were winners on the track of her 12 total foals.  Most notably were the Derby winner Branibor (by Arcus) and the Oaks winner Bajra (by Czort).  Another success for Bajdara in the breeding shed was the Canadian Top Ten Stallion, Bajdak (by Comet).  Bajdara is the great great grand dam of Batyskaf, Polish National Champion and Race Horse of the Year -- sold to Jockey Club of Turkey in 1998 for $500,000.
