  • Facility Expansion at Wintersteen Arabians

November 30, 2003

Barn is getting closer to completion - picture taken in March!

The severe drought in Colorado has been trying for both pasture and trees on the farm. Several of our mature ponderosa pines succumb to pine beetles due to the drought. We have, however, turned this into an opportunity and used this abundant wood supply for expansion in the form of a new 10 stall barn. The foundation was finished this fall and framing started Thanksgiving week. This is a really an addition to the south barn. The new building will boast 10 stalls, many of them an oversized 12 x 18! It will also have workshop, wash stall, tack room and vet room to handle transported semen. WA Pejczyk's phantom for collecting will also be housed in the new barn. The barn sports beautiful full timbers with blue streaked pine from beetles. We hope to put the finishing touches with some Polish influences. Everyone is welcome to stop by for a tour!

  • Fun at the US Nationals in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Bonnie, Marsha Parkinson, Greg Gallun, and Bob

October 25, 2003

Greg with *Ganges

It was with pleasure that we were able to attend the 2003 US Arabian Nationals and be on hand when *Ganges went Reserve Senior Champion Stallion. He was expertly shown by Greg Gallun for leasee Marsha Parkinson. WA Miss Mirabell will be bred to *Ganges in the spring and it was fun to be there to take part in the post victory celebration.

In other news we were able to meet up with some of the new owners of WA Gallanor, Tony and Claudette Vincent of Encore Farms, CA. WA Gallanor will be pointed towards the 2004 Nationals in Western Pleasure Jr. Horse with Brett Becker. Becker tooks six National Championships in 2003 in Western Pleasure

  • Estansia wins Class A Championship!

September 15, 2003

Estansia won her first Class A Show Championship today in the Open Mare. She trotted her way to the Reserve Grand Champion Mare title at the Colorado Fall Charity Class A in Denver. She was shown to the Championship by Jeff Wintersteen, but it certainly could not have been possible without the efforts of David Lowe of Scottsdale AZ who was at the farm 2 weeks prior to school her. She still needs to improve her stand up, but she trots boldly and with confidence in true Monogramm style. In addition, she won the Filly/ Mare AOTH with Bonnie Wintersteen at the lead.

  • WA Pejczyk wins Stallion Sport Horse in Hand Championship!

August 29, 2003

WA Pejczyk won his first outing in Sport Horse in Hand, named Champion Stallion at the CAHC Class A Fall Show in Denver, CO. Despite being fresh off the track in racing condition and shod race plates, he demonstrated powerful movement for which he got near perfect scores. His only negative was due to lack of "show weight" because of his lean race fitness, but his score was more than sufficient to overcome his rivals. This adds yet another dimension for Pejczyk and his foals. He was shown to the win by Jeff Wintersteen, the first appearance for both in a Sport Horse Class.

  • Pejczyk and Son Win at Elbert County Open!

"King", Ashley, Pejczyk and Bob after the the Stallion Championship

August 24, 2003

WA Pejczyk returned to the Elbert County All Breed Show in Kiowa after a three year sabbatical. He picked up where he left off -- named Grand Champion Stallion for the fourth time and remaining undefeated lifetime at this show. He was joined in the championship class by his 2 1/2 month old son Blitzski King who won the 2 Years and Younger Class. "King" was bred and is owned by the Richard, Candice, Tera and Ashley Barnhill of Elizabeth CO. Congratulations to the Barnhill's for their first show participation and good luck at the CAHC Class A Fall Show.

  • WA Pejczyk's First Colt Born!

June 9, 2003

A 2003 colt by WA Pejczyk arrived recently at the Barnhill's, out of Wintersteen bred mare WA Baskiva. The chestnut colt is the first chestnut and colt for WA Pejczyk. The colt, Blitzski King, is an excellent individual with particularly great length of neck. The unique name is a tribute to the grandfather of Richard who served in the Polish Calvary. The colt is CO Futurity nominated and is expected to be shown this fall. Congratulations to the Barnhill's!

  • WA Milleniumpsyche Sold!

May 15, 2003

WA Mileniumpsyche, the Padrons Psyche gelding, was sold to Danielle Morgan of Longmont CO. Danielle has shown Psy in halter to a 2nd at the Estes Park Class A show and under saddle to a 2nd at the Elbert County Open. Psy has flourished under Danielle's care and we are very pleased that Psy found such a great home. Good luck to Psy and Danielle at the CAHC FAll Show!!

  • WA Gallanor Wins Championships!

    March 7, 2003

WA Gallanor won convincingly in his first outing for "Gallanor Group", the partnership that acquired the young stallion this fall. Gallanor captured the Jr. Colt Championship, Grand Champion Stallion, AOTH Stallion, and Sport Horse Championship at the Class A show in Reno Nevada. Joey Canda was the judge. This is a thrilling result for the Gallanor Group and marks Class A Championships for all three of Wintersteen Arabians foundation mares. We look forward to continued success for Gallanor and having some of his foals here in on the farm in Colorado.
