  • WA Pejczyk Wins 6 Furlong Sprint!!

    August 18, 2002

WA Pejczyk's second race of the season proved that the first one was no fluke. Going off as the favorite in a near full field of 11 horses, WA Pejczyk stalked the leader through sizzling fractions of 24.4 and 51.2 for the quarter and half respectively. Not wanting to be in a position of running down the leader as in the last race, the team of Wintersteen and Bridges decided to try and put the issue to bed early by making a move at the 3/8ths pole. WA Pejczyk assumed the lead coming off the turn and, established enough of a cushion to withstand the closers. WA Pejczyk was the only horse running medication free!

  • WA Pejczyk Second by a Neck!!

    July 13, 2002

    WA Pejczyk after the race.
Pejczyk after finishing second in a 6 furlong race.

In WA Pejczyk's first race of the 2002 summer race season he put in a spectacular performance in a 12 horse field, narrowly missing the win. It was the first start under his new trainer and co-owner/breeder Jeff Wintersteen. "Pj's" training had flattened off so he was given time off in the early summer but a recent gallop was convincing enough to warrant a start. Pj broke alertly from the 8 hole and quickly established himself as one of the early front runners. Coming off the turn for home, some other horses got a jump and he got squeezed to 5th. Kelly Bridges, leading jockey from Turf Paradise, found some running room and asked Pj to go forward. He soon began a dramatic stretch run, chasing down the leader - French bred Virgil. Pj, 4 lengths behind the leader quickly separated himself from the rest of the field and closed on the leader. He passed the leader a stride too late, but it was an exciting race with Pj demonstrating tremendous heart and courage. The time was very fast, especially the last quarter and both horses went off to the test barn being 7 lengths ahead of the rest of the field. Pj continues to run drug free!

  • Two New arrivals!!

    April 25, 2002

    Estansia arrives at Wintersteen Arabians
Estansia (Monogramm x *Erwina) arrives at Wintersteen Arabians.

Two new mares have arrived at Wintersteen Arabians. The eldest is the six year old Monogramm daughter, Estansia. She brings to the farm the magic of the Michalów/ Monogramm cross which has produced Polish, European, and World Champions that have dominated the continent for several years. Estansia is out of one of the most beautiful Palas daughters, *Erwina - who is granddam of Polish and World Champion Stallion Ekstern. Ekstern is widely regarded as the greatest European Show horse, currently undefeated. This makes Estansia a near full sister to Ekstern. Estansia is currently on lease from Bishop Lane Farm and will be bred to WA Pejczyk's for foal in 2003.

The second mare is a 2 year old filly by Polish National Champion and multi stakes winning racehorse *Pepton. Brilliance SF is a super sweet and correct filly. She will make her racing debut next year at Arapahoe Park. Brilliance SF was bred by George Altenberg of Sherwood Farms, CA.

    March 18, 2002

WA Pejczyk's first foal of 2002 was born to the Stargard daughter Zamarita Star owned by Laura Vashchenko, Tandem Park Riding Center of Conifer CO. The filly is strong and healthy - with a great athletic body and perfect legs. We are anxious to watch her grow and we will have pictures more pictures coming soon!
  • Miss Mirabell to be bred to *Ganges!

    Spring 2002

WA Miss Mirabell will be bred to 2001 Polish National Champion Stallion *Ganges in spring 2003 for a 2004 foal. *Ganges is a phenomenal son of Monogramm and bred by Michalów State Stud in Poland. He is currently on lease to the US for 2 years and will be shown at the US and Canadian Nationals. *Ganges is the epitome of the Kuhailan stallion with long neck and extreme pole. His motion is indicative of his sire. He is also the winner of the Kuhailan stakes in Poland at the age of 3, which makes his pedigree formidable for the track as well.

The cross should work very well on the Kuhailan pedigree of the dam and should create an extremely beautiful and athletic foal. Please contact us for more information.

    August 26, 2001

The *Emanor foals won in their first outing at the Elbert County All Breed Show. WA Emaranta won her class, Fillies 2 years and younger. The colt, WA Gallanor took the Reserve Champion Stallion title as weanling. Both foals did extremely well, especially considering it was their first time off the farm.

While Pj did not win a race, it was nice to be recognized by such a great group of horse people. It also fuels the fire to return to the track in 2001 and win.
